BBC lifts the lid on RDAs – not before time

When the issue of transparency and accountability is the fashion, it is appropriate that the spotlight shifts from the worlds of Westminster and Brussels and towards the Regional Development Agencies. BBC Radio 4’s File of Four programme tonight (8pm) takes a look at these largely accountable bodies which spend billions of pounds of taxpayers’ money. I’m looking forward to it. I have long felt that we should be doing more to analyse what Yorkshire Forward, the RDA in this region, does for its money. After all its salary bill comes to £22 million pounds alone.
